The University of Manchester looks forward to welcoming you and your colleagues to the 17th UK Heat Transfer Conference (UKHTC2021) which will be held at the university where Osborne Reynolds and Thomas Stanton undertook their pioneering research. The conference will be held on the University’s North Campus in the Renold Building, just a 5-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly, the city’s principal rail terminus, and a 5-10-minute stroll to the main downtown areas with their abundance of department stores, boutiques, hotels and restaurants.

The Renold Building provides a magnificent location for our conference. Built in 1962 in an era when space and university budgets were less constrained than in the 21st century, it has an array of fully-tiered lecture theatres and a huge well-lit foyer area of 960 square metres to provide a spacious setting for our prize-competition poster presentation and sponsoring company displays.

The building is also home to the magnificent 15m-long mural ‘Metamorphosis’ by Victor Pasmore, CBE, CH displayed in the registration area.
