Following the postponement of the conference, the Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that it will be possible to accept a number of additional high-quality papers. To make such a submission, as before, an extended abstract of up to 3 pages in length, inclusive of key figures, should be submitted to the EasyChair portal. These should preferably follow the style of the template appearing on the Abstract Submission page as all accepted abstracts will form part of the conference printed material. The new submission deadline for such proposals is December 6th, 2021.

The Organizing Committee is also pleased to invite offers of papers to an entirely new special session: “Artificial Intelligence Applications to Heat Transfer”. This session is dedicated to papers that use an Artificial Intelligence (AI) approach to analyse, diagnose and predict heat transfer phenomena and performance of thermal systems. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of neural networks for the prediction of heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops, the classification of flow regimes in boiling systems with machine learning methods, and performance prediction and control of industrial thermal systems. Particularly welcomed are submissions that use a hybrid approach, whereby AI is integrated with first principal models (CFD etc.). Submissions should be prepared as above and submitted via the EasyChair system with authors ensuring that the session is selected on the submission form.

For researchers who are still working on their results and thus not able to commit to contributing a full paper on the above timescale, a special category of paper has been added. The special session: Latest Results In Heat Transfer will enable authors to present their discoveries to the conference by way of a 3-page paper in the proceedings (in the same format as the extended abstract) with a short oral presentation and a post slot at the conference. The final deadline for such “Late Results” papers is February 4th, 2022 following which the paper will be lightly reviewed by a member of the Organizing Committee. See the Abstract Submission page for format guidelines and submission instructions.

All submitted abstracts will be expert reviewed and corresponding authors notified of acceptance with any reviewers’ comments by Jan 4th, 2022. Final accepted papers (again in electronic form) conforming with format guidelines and up to six pages in length will be required by February 4th, 2022 for inclusion on the conference USB stick.

The conference will offer both oral and poster presentations, the format of all accepted papers being identical for both categories. The Conference is keen to attract poster presentations; each author will be included in a poster-pitch oral session to alert conferees to the theme of each poster. Prizes and certificates will be awarded to the best posters (voted on by conferees).

Several international journals, many of whom will be exhibiting at the Conference, have expressed interest in publishing post-conference extended papers from the meeting in special issues.
